New brand for a skate sharpening business that combines a deep understanding of how ice skates are truly sharpened with the essence of a thriving small business. Contrary to popular belief, skate blades are not flat with two sharp edges or knife-like in appearance. In reality, they possess a thickness of approximately 3mm. The sharpening process involves a fast-spinning, rounded stone that expertly carves a groove along the length of the blade, creating what is known as a "hollow." This hollow's depth can be customized to suit the skater's preference, ranging from a 1" radius for enhanced speed to a 3/8" radius for maximum grip on the ice. Given this wealth of knowledge and the desire to capture the local essence, the name "The Local Hollow" emerged as the perfect embodiment for this ice skate sharpening venture.
